GR Vins

South Rhône - France

GR Vins was born from the meeting of 2 oenologists from the South Rhône Valley: David Risoul (technical director and consultant) and Emmanuel Gagnepain (consulting oenologist in the South Rhône Valley and Corsica). Gagnepain is a well-known name among vignerons in France. He is the consulting enologist for more than 70 domaines like Abbatucci, Vaccelli, Pero Longo, Clos Fornelli and Stiliccionu in Corsica, just to name a few.

In 2014, they began their own project with a simple idea : buy grapes from some of the best organically farmed sites from a few of their top producers in different regions, make the wines from one source for each wine in the producer’s cellar and have them finished according to their ideas and then bottle it at each domaine.

GR Vins is above all the expression of common values, close sensitivities, convictions aimed at respect for the vine and wine. It is also the desire to work together to develop a range of wines from the best terroirs of the Mediterranean (freshness and minerality).

Emmanuel and David purchase their own materials for each wine, including the barrels (all 500-liter French oak), select each parcel and manage the wine. GR Vins is therefore an incredible range of identity wines whose main signature characters are minerality, freshness, length and salinity.

Wines from the duo are found on many exceptional tables like 3 Michelin stars restaurants Alexandre Mazzia ❃ ❃ ❃ (Marseille), Le Petit Nice ❃ ❃ ❃ (Marseille), Baumaniere ❃ ❃ ❃ (Avignon), and many other 2 and single star ones all around France…
